Chen`s Chinese Restaurant in Lexington

This my favorite Chinese takeout in the Lexington area. Fast and friendly service, and the food is at a great price

My wife just brought home what is supposed to be General Tsos chicken but doesn't even resemble it. The sauce isn't the right flavor or color and to boot its supposed to be extra spicy. The rice does not resemble fried rice and the noodles look like Dcollar General $1 ramen. How can this place have any good ratings? Apparently people don't know what real Chinese food is. Very dissatisfied.

I ordered the General's chicken. I found it very tasty and loved the traditional music they were playing.

The menu orders are MUCH BETTER! Chen's has become our new go to place for Chinese food. If you come on Sunday during the buffet, don't judge the food quality. It's good, but not like the normal menu. I guess buffet item are more of a bulk cooking thing.

The only Chinese restaurant I will eat at in town. The food is excellent.

This is really a textbook American Chinese restaurant. The menu is vast. I haven't been to the lunch buffet but I will go eventually. Also, their sodas are cheap! The space is small but that's no big deal.

Excellent shrimp fried rice, teriyaki chicken, General Tso chicken, and more!

Poor selection on buffet. Could have paid another 75 cents and had a much better selection over near my home.

My family's favorite Chinese takeout in Lexington. The ingredients taste fresh, and the spice levels are just right! The lunch buffet has a small, but perfect, sampling of popular items from their menu.

This is a great establishment, very clean, great variety.

Horrible food, General Tso's was nasty, didn't taste like it at all

Looks like a whole in the wall. They have the best chinese food in lexington. Not a sit down restaurant. It is aimed at pick up. I have eaten at several Chinese restaurants in Lexington but Chen has the best food. Service is fast.

Best food and service

I love this restaurant! They somehow give the vibe of small town mom and pops kind of establishment. I have been a patron since 2014 and the owners are so sweet that they asks about my children when I go there by myself! Yes is is small and not set-up fancy but it is by all means very budget friendly and the food is consistently good! I like their lunch buffet ($6.99 / adult, $3 for kids ages 5 and up aand free for 2 years old and below!!!!) because they only cook at small batches so you know that you are not eating some left overs the day before! The owners are very accommodating and the service is fast! On top of all these, they have a card that they give to you when you eat in-store with the buffet and after 10 stamps, your meal is FREE!

It's okay but there's better around the corner.

I order by phone and pick up. I have Chen's on speed dial...10-15 minutes every time: consistently fast. Friendly. Food is fantastic.

Good food. Buffet offers 10-12 items. We really liked the prorated kids pricing for the buffet. Frequent diners get a free meal after so many visits.

Sesame Chicken was subpar. I didn't finish it.

I chose this place because I'd never been there and it had good ratings. The place is clean but the staff was below average in many ways. I ordered the bourbon chicken and IDK what I received but it didn't taste line any bourbon chicken I'd ever had. It was terrible. They don't have fountain drinks here so the only drink option is a can or 2 litre. Not a good experience in all and there's plenty of other restaurants that serve Chinese food around that will prevent me from returning here. Their buffet is small. I spent $8+ for a lunch special and a can of diet coke.

First time here! Very friendly and Food was phenomenal! Will defiantly be coming back!

I was really really hungry so I ate it. But I won't be coming back. The chicken in multiple dishes taste like soap water

This place sucks! Went there around 2:30 and they only had one scoop of the food on the already small selection buffet. The workers child was playing in the eating area and left toys everywhere! Not a happy customer!

We ordered hot and spicy chicken it has more onion and capsicum slice with more sauce and very less chicken .felt very hard to eat .

I am not sure when they replaced regular size egg rolls with small spring rolls for combination dinner but I will not spend the extra money next time.

A meal and an app for two adults for $19.10. Totally recommend as I called prior to and they had my food ready within 10 minutes. In and out very quickly.

I will preface this review by saying that this was the first time I ever ate food from this restaurant. I ordered lo mein, a chicken dish and an appetizer. The chicken itself was tender and well seasoned, but the vegetables were extremely overcooked, as was the rice and lo mein. I usually get Chinese from Top China Buffet on St Andrews, and I have to say that even the food that has been sitting for a while on the buffet is better there than the food I ordered and picked up from Chen's. I may give the food a second chance, thinking maybe I just caught them on a bad day. Then again, maybe not.

Delicious Chinese food in an traditional Lexington's restaurant! Highly recommended!

Their food is always fresh and tasty. We mostly Take Out but the service is always good and the food is done in a timely manner. This is our Go To quick meal delicious. Beef and Broccoli, won ton Soup, Egg Drop Soup, chicken wings, pork fried rice, pork Lomein , it is all very good!

I ordered the shrimp lo mein lunch special and could have easily made three meals out of it. It was VERY tasty! The lady that helped me was very kind and attentive. I will be a return customer!Another customer wrote that a worker’s child was here. There was a kid here but that is common in their culture. He was not bothersome. I thought the environment was nice and relaxing with pretty music playing.

The BEST Chinese in the Lexington/Columbia Area. When we moved down here 10 years ago we thought we'd never find a decent Chinese Food place. We found Chen's in the first year and have been loyal patrons ever since.

Always delicious! Our standard order is sesame chicken, beef fried rice, and egg rolls. Large portions and reasonably priced! We love Chens!

Best Chinese buffet around, but unfortunately only for lunch. Small selection compared to most of the Chinese buffets in the area, but amazing food for cheap. They only use fresh, quality ingredients. Their pepper chicken is incredible.

Fresh buffet. They only put small amounts in the steam pans and rotate fresh food in frequently. Clean restaurant. I enjoyed it.
